Sizeable Attic black glazed lekanis with loop ribbon like handles projecting from the sides and is resting on a broad foot. The lid is decorated with thin orange bands and is topped by a short stem knob with a large disc of slightly raised edges decorated with black concentric circles typical for Athenian workshops.
The lid when turned around would stand on the knob with the large disc serving as a second bowl.
Athens, 2nd half of 5th century BC. Intact!
