Very interesting and rare Directoire period pedestal table in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer, composed of a double arched base terminated by four carved lion claws and joined by a cubic section spacer.
From this base stand two columns ringed with gilded bronze at the start, and supporting an octagonal top. A mechanism, composed of a horizontal axis, allows the tilting of the rocking plate while two curved uprights, reminiscent of the shape of a heart, pivot on a vertical axis to stabilize the plate. The top is inlaid with a magnificent embedded yellow onyx plate.
