Christ of great quality of execution in boxwood without his cross, represented as "Christus patiens", who is resigned, as it appears from the 10th c. He does not yet have the wound caused by the spear of the centurion Longin. The right foot is overlaid on the left (the right is a symbol of goodness and justice, and the three nails can be an allusion to the Trinity).
Work probably French of the 17th c.
The Christ is placed in a magnificent silver frame worked in embossed on a wooden core, decorated with foliage, scrolls, flowers and birds, executed in the Venetian workshops in the sixteenth century.
A few wear and lacks.
Frame: 60x54; Christ: 21 head-feet and 28 diagonal hand-feet.
