It is decorated in gold, silver and polychrome hira and taka maki-e lacquer, and kimpun on a background of ro-iro black lacquer. Three gardeners stand, with their tools, under a torii, pine, bamboo, cherry blossom and a maple tree in autumn colors. Clouds are suggested on the upper and lower ends of the inro by Nashiji lacquer and gold kirikane. In the background a pavilion, obviously of an important figure, with its terrace is on the other side of the inro. Signed in gold lacquer Jitokusai Gyokuzan with a kakihan. Height 3 5/8 in.
