Guard and handle in vermeil, finely chiselled and punched QUEILLED.
Wooden scabbard, covered with red silk with gold filigree and two highly chiselled and punched giltwood QUEILLÉ trimmings.
This is a goldsmith's piece, ordered in France for the Ottoman market and made by Eugène QUEILLÉ, goldsmith, at 8 Petite rue Saint-Roch-Poissonière in Paris; as attested by his hallmark registered on February 11, 1847 (Rèf. 01562 of the Archives de la Garantie de Paris).
