A four-case Inro. Japanese gold fundame lacquer background with two birds in foliages and a tree on takamaki-e. On the reverse, a rock. Mother of pearl and tin inlays. Size : 6 x 5 cm. Japan Edo (1603-1868) 17th century. A famous print presente the rock with the Hishaku ladle : Kitagawa Utamaro (1753 – 1806) Huiyuan priest : young lady with a child looking into water puddle in a rock (Eon Hoshi), (Kokei ni sansho).
