An elongated five-case Inro. Gold and silver japanese lacquer with technique of maki-e, fundame, kirigane. Horses in a landscape represented in many poses : leaping about, galloping, turning, standing still. Horses, zodiac animal, have been used as mounts in Japan since the fifth century. Very fine details.
