Paintings, oil on canvas, measuring 37 x 25 cm without frame and 51 x 39 with frame, depicting two vases of 18th century Roman school flowers.
These curious and well-calibrated floral still lifes, consisting of a lush central bouquet of flowers inside a worked vase resting on the ground, outlined against the background, expresses an analytical taste with unique mimetic and pictorial typologies, which leads to a Italianized Nordic matrix, therefore to an Italian master but of first or indirect Nordic extraction.
Focusing a search on these coordinates in the prolific sector of 'flourishing' active in the eighteenth century, and noting the prevalent blue-white intonation of the lush and fragrant floral groups, in which alongside the more usual carnations, tulips and roses, there are hyacinths and bluebells, which assume of the almost crystalline accents, it can be traced back to a Roman school that approaches the precepts of Ludovico Stern (Rome 1709 - 1777).
