Earthenware salt or spice container, Spain late 17th/early 18th century

A rare Spanish tin-glazed earthenware salt or spice "especiero" container of triangular shape with three circular wells, moulded to the sides with stylized lion-head masks and decorated with scrollwork foliage, fruits and flower-heads in polychrome colors.

Talavera de la Reina or Puento del Arzobispo (province of Toledo, Central Spain).
Baroque era. Late 17th / early 18th century.

Dimensions: 15cm x 15cm x 15,5cm x H 5,5cm.

Provenance: acquired by the previous owner from J. Zeberg antiquairs (Antwerp) in the late 1960's.
