Charming two-body cabinet called "with withdrawal", in molded walnut.
It has four doors as well as four drawers.
The facade is very "architectural". There are six finely fluted pilasters on the uprights and frames.
The doors are decorated with arabesques made with the "pastiglia" technique (a white paste made from an eggshell is embedded in the wood). There are also inlays of blackened wood.
The sobriety of the decor of this piece of furniture and its elegance is typical of the Second French Renaissance.
Pays de la Loire
Period late 16th century
