This beautiful portrait dates back to circa 1600.
It is made by a north Italian painter in the area of Venice.
In 2017 I contacted the Italian expert Dr. Francesca. Baldassari, she has done some research and thinks the best candidate for this painting is Francesco Montemezzano, a painter born in Verona.
Judging the richness of her clothing, we are dealing with someone in the highest aristocratic layers of society. Maybe even of royal descent.
An American lace expert has contacted me that the lace in her dress is of flemish origin and datable circa 1600.
Flemish textiles and lace were a very luxueus and expensive trade object in those days, fit for the very best clients.
The painting is still in a very good condition.
Housed in a black frame.
