This early 16th century painting can be situated in France in the early 16th century. It is painted on a recovered piece of oak panel on which we see on the backside partly God the father seated on a throne, on his left flying red angels.
We can compare these angels with the ones on the important painting of Jean Foucquet housed in the KMSK in Antwerp.
This indicates a French origin, rather then a flemish one.
The frame is also in oak and dates back to the 16th century.
The painting is in a good condition (due to the fact this panel dates more then 500 years old).
In the background we notice a nice view of a large and important city. Possible Jerusalem?
