La Faneuse - Alfred Boucher (1850-1934)

"La Faneuse" statue in bronze from the early 20th century (circa 1905) depicting a young peasant woman leaning on her fork whose original marble model appeared at the end of the 19th century. Signed on the basis A BOUCHER with the stamp and numbering of the founder Siot- Decauville Paris. Beautiful general condition, patina medal nuanced original with a slight wear in line with its age.
Alfred Boucher 1850/1934 born in Bouy-sur-Orvin, spent part of his childhood in Nogent-sur-Seine where he learned sculpture at Marius Ramus. Entered the National School of Fine Arts in 1869 he attended the courses of Paul Dubois and Antoine Dumont, after a stay in Rome and Florence he moved to Aix-les-Bains and created in 1902 the Hive of Arts in Paris with the presence of Soutine, Chagall and many artists today the most recognized .... Enjoying a high profile he received numerous commissions and the highest distinctions.
