DELANOY Born October 8, 1849 in Glasgow, Scotland, of French parents. Died in 1899 in Paris. 19th century. French.
Painter of history, genre scenes, portraits, interiors, landscapes, still lifes, flowers and fruit/pastellist.
Son of the painter Jacques Delanoy, he was a pupil at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon in 1865-1866, then at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, working under the direction of F. Barrias, Bonnat and Vollon.
He exhibited in Lyon between 1863 and 1887, and in Paris between 1868 and 1899. In his still lifes, he excelled in shining armour and swords.
