With her left arm, she leans on the dial of our pendulum which is surmounted by two knotted oak branches and has leafy consoles at its base.
The female figure here represented symbolizes "the Use of Time" which is the second name under which this model of pendulum is listed.

The finely chiseled bronzes are stamped by the famous Parisian founder and gilder Henri Picard, who supplied the "small apartments of the Louvre" for the Emperor Napoleon III and was recognized for the high quality of his production of table pieces and garnishes. fireplace. Also the marble is signed Picard below. Movement with wire suspension, enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, striking hours and half hours.
