The charming and particular pair of bronze fireplace chenets was made in the 19th century in France, in Louis XVI style. It represents a pair of children, a female and a male, in bronze with dark patina, which stretch their arms towards the warmth of the fireplace. The figures, naked, are covered by a rich draped mantle and sit on the bases in gilt bronze, resting on spherical feet. The bases are decorated with elements that simulate ice stalactites that slowly melt, thanks to the diffused heat.
Good state of preservation.
