This wonderful Baroque mirror was made in Venice (Italy), around the middle of the 18th century, in lacquered, carved and gilded wood.
It consists of a rectangular frame in gilded wood carved with foliage motifs. The second register is smooth, slightly convex. It has a lacquered finish simulation of lapis lazuli, very particular and of great value. At the expense of the corners, the lacquered band widens with large lobes on which are applied refined fretwork and gilt, shaped volutes and phytomorphic elements and fan. As many decorations with plant elements are applied along the vertical sides, while a sumptuous selvedge crowns the mirror, with large garlands and spirals carved in giltwood.
This splendid mirror of great value is characterized by great decorative and adaptability to any environment. It will be easily inserted in environments with antique or modern furnishings, giving great charm and aristocracy. Suitable in an entrance hall or a living room, it is very beautiful thought over a dresser or a console.
