It represents an animated view of the Bosphorus, Constantinople.

In perfect condition.
The Golden horn is often described as the world's greatest natural harbor. It is a flooded river valley which flows into the Bosphorus. The legend says that the Byzantines threw in so many valuables, that the water glistened with gold.
In this painting Gudin takes the majestic skyline of the old city, including the Yeni Mosque, the Suleymaniye Mosque in the distance.
