Son of an engraver, André Duculty (1912-1990) benefits from a solid training in drawing completed by a passage in Fernand Léger's workshop. His talent earned him many prizes and a regular presence at trade fairs. He quickly gave up painting to devote himself almost exclusively to watercolour. This means of expression allows him to capture the motif on the spot, particularly along the French coast and in the Paris region. The piece that we present shows the artist's attachment to Paris and more particularly to the flea markets that he frequented with pleasure. In addition to its charm, this view shows the impressionistic influence of light.
