Our opinion :
This type of office chair appeared under the consulate, and was very successful during the 1st Empire.
Some rare models similar in all respects to our copy and bearing the Jacob D stamp on rue Meslée (1803-1813) allow us to attribute this seat to the master with certainty.
One of its seats was recently sold in public sale, Sotheby’s collection Dillée 18 and 19 March 2015 lot 387 (8750 euros).
