The Washerwomen - Paul-Antoine Hallez (1872-1965)

Paul-Antoine Hallez (1872-1965) pupil of Bonnat is part of this naturalist current in vogue at the end of the 19th century.
Like the Barbizon school, painters grouped together, Paul-Antoine Hallez settled not far from Nohant to enjoy the landscapes that remained very natural and was part of the Crozant school.
To cite only the most famous, Claude Monet and Armand Guillaumin will succumb to the beauty of the landscapes of Berry and will settle for a while in the region.
