Chéri François Dubreuil was born in Vic en Bigorre in the Pyrenees on February 6, 1828 He is the son of Baron Pierre Louis Marguerite Dubreuil Painter and sailor, he was a non-commissioned officer in the French navy in the middle of the 19th. It was indeed in 1840 that he entered the Lorient naval school. As an auxiliary aspirant in September 1848 in Rochefort on the frigate Mogador, he became Master helmsman in 1854. He is present in various museums including that of the navy which keeps 5 paintings by the artist.
