Claude Lalanne (1925-2019) was a French sculptor known for creating metal sculptures, furniture and jewelry where nature is ubiquitous. We find benches, mirrors or cages decorated with animals or ginkgo leaves, but also the sculpture "The Man with cabbage head" which served as inspiration for the French singer Serge Gainsbourg. She studied at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris.
As a lively artist with baroque tastes, Claude Lalanne signed in 1956, with her companion François-Xavier, the Jardin des Halles (kindergarten) in Paris, of which she was the architect. She also made the busts of the model Veruschka for Yves Saint Laurent, then collaborated from 1965 with Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Bergé and Loulou de la Falaise.
