This German offering basin was made around 1500, in brass with repoussé decoration, and has a very beautiful patina. The entire ornament at the bottom of the basin radiates symmetrically around a central point. The first register alternates leaves and lion heads, five in number. From the mouths of these lions emerge stems with double vine leaves encircling a fruit. The edge of the pool is decorated with small chiselled elements. It is possible to find basin very similar to ours in Hermann P. Lockner’s, Messing, published in 1982. (pp. 34-35)
