Works of art, sculptures and furniture Haute Epoque
This large octagonal Piedmontese frame dates from the last quarter of the 16th century. The perimeter of the view is decorated with a frieze of fruits and leaves, while the rest of the carved and gilded wooden frame has naturalist motifs and vegetal interlacing.
This frame, whose plate is visible in a few places, has an excellent state of conservation. It is possible to find mirrors with similar decorations in the book by Roberto Lodi and Amedeo Montanari, Répertoire du cadre européen published in 2003 (n°229 p. 125 and n°231 p. 127)
