A beautiful Roman marble head of Bacchus. The youthful god is depicted with an open mouth, articulated eyes and a smooth forehead that merges with the bridge of his nose. To each side of the forehead he wears a bunch grapes or berries in his hair.
The head has been mounted onto an antique fragment of a Roman column in green breccia marble on a white marble base.
