This processional crucifix is in excellent condition. It has a very beautiful patina and also traces of polychromy.
On his original poplar cross, this "Christus dolens", made of walnut wood, is represented at the moment of his death. His body, hung on the cross by hands and feet with three nails, has a protruding musculature and visible ribs. It carries a perizonium with multiple folds and closed by a lateral knot. Surmounted by her crown of thorns and surrounded by her wavy hair, partly openworked, her face is peaceful.
On the right flank of Jesus is the wound that symbolizes the moment when the centurion, Longin the Centurion, had a divine revolution by piercing the dead Christ with his spear and cried out "Truly this man was Son of God". From this wound springs "immediately" from blood and water. " (John 19:34)
