Jacques Edmond Turbiaux filed his patent for France in 1882, and in 83 for the U.S.A., where the Minéapolis Fire Arms Co began marketing it, then transferred the patent to Finnegam. The proposed copy was produced by his company, the Chicago Fire Arms Co.
