Georges PACOUIL (1903-1997) was born in Paris of Catalan parents. Student at the Ecole Bernard-Palissy and especially pupil of the pointillist Hippolyte PETITJEAN, his life was dotted with medals and Honorary Prizes. A neorealist painter, he is attached to the form, the structure of nature. His art is similar to that of a Segonzac or Lapatellière. Theater decorator (1920-1934), painter and teacher since 1934, he exhibited in many salons. Member of the Salon d'Automne since 1934, Associate of major Parisian and national salons. Has participated in major exhibitions abroad: Balkans, San Francisco, Tunisia, Carnegie Institute of Pittsburgh. Former member of the Artists Professionalism Commission and the Committee of the Society of Independent Artists. Distinctions: Bernheim Prize, Blumental Prize, First Prize of the Watercolor Competition of the City of Paris (1950), Louis Willaume Prize, Silver Medal of the French League of Education (1954), Medal of Vermeil Arts-Sciences -Lettres (1968), Gold Medal for Youth and Sports (1969), Gold Medal of the General Council of Hauts de Seine (1984).
