Exceptional Florentine mirror from the second half of the 16th century in carved wood with its original gilding in "Oro zecchino". The colour of the plate is perceptible in a few places. Its decoration is elegant and very elaborate, no element is left to chance and the result is perfectly coherent.
A real harmony emerges from this piece. This unit is due in particular to the fact that its initial function has not been altered. The mercury mirror and the back veneer bottoms are original. Reflecting the times and its previous owners, this work is steeped in history. Moreover, despite its large size, this mirror is still in a remarkable state of preservation.
An identical model found in the 2003 book Répertoire du cadre Européen by Roberto Lodi and Amedeo Montanari.
