An important alabaster head of a faun, a divinity of the Roman mythology, protector of the country, of the flocks and of the woods. It is represented with a human aspect, bearded, with pointed ears and eyebrows which is composed by foliage. The eyes are hollowed out, so that when the light falls through, the carving comes to life. Remarkable is the asymmetry whereby the left eyelid is underlined with foliage and the right one is not.
