Rare map made, with the privileges of the King, with the new European territories of map initially set up by guillaume Delisle and increased by Dezauche in 1783.

The use of the United States name (United States) is for the first time used in 1703.
The Delisle map is considered the first map to correctly show the Lower Mississippi, accurately locate the Great Lakes and locate many English coastal colonies.
Its longevity of edition and its numerous copies by other cartographers testify to the importance of this engraving.
Dezauche was Buache's son-in-law and successor to Delisle. He changed the original title on the map to include the words United States. He also added a legend and color code to show the colonial possessions of England, France, Spain and the United States.
