A very fine and elegant terra-cotta sculpture depicting a dancing faun with cymbals. In his hair he has leafs and berries and across his body he wears a thin belt made of ivy. Beautifully detailed !
Signed on the base "Clodion" for Claude Michel known as Clodion (December 20, 1738 – March 29, 1814), a French sculptor, especially noted for his works in terra-cotta.
