Marble sculpture representing the goddess Flore (or Chloris in Greek mythology). Florence, late 16th century.
Sister of Apollo and Artemis, goddess of flowers and spring, Flora is represented as a feminine figure, standing, loosely hip. The himation draped in mid-body denudes a rather small torso. In his left hand a bouquet of flowers. The hair, separated by a median line and organized in soft waves, is held by a bun.
