This head carved in tuffeau was probably made between Anjou and Touraine, the extraction of this limestone that sign the cultural identity of the Loire Valley through its innumerable achievements (castles, abbeys, sculptures ). The sculptor is here to give body to an ideal, that of the feminine beauty around the 1500s. The face, of an absolute oval, is full, marked by almond eyes surmounted by two eyebrows to the arcade perfect. The nose is straight, fine, the mouth small.
