An exceptional and important Boulle marquetery turtleshell bracket clock decorated with foliate scrolls and branches in blossom. Chiselled gilt bronze ornamentation. Cartouche enamelled dial with Roman numbers signed "Coullon", referenced in the "Dictionnaire des Horlogers Français", le Tardy, p. 143. The bracket clock is surmouned by Chronos sitting on a sphere. He represents the Time and the Destiny. A putto holding a key and a dog, symbol of the fidelity, decorates the door. Similar model listed in "L'Encyclopédie de La Pendule Française" by Pierre Kjellberg, p.78.
Marquetery and gold in perfect condition. Movement checked.
