An important ivory "okimono" of a banana, naturalistically carved with a strip of skin peeled back towards the brown stalk, revealing the fleshy interior, the skin stained a pale yellow. Unsigned.
Japan. Meiji era. 1868-1912.
Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity dated 24/10/2018 signed by a member of the "Chambre Royale des Antiquaires de Belgique".
