Jean-Jaques Pradier (known as James), born in Geneva 1790/1852, enters the school of fine arts in Paris in 1808, first prize in Rome in 1813, one of the most important sculptors under the reign of Louis Philippe, he receives numerous official commissions including the remarkable the Esplanade fountain in Nimes (Kjellberg).
