Bronze statue of the late nineteenth century, produced by the Foundry Thiébaut Frères in Paris and signed on its base A Falguière.
Alexandre Falguière was born in Toulouse in 1831, a pupil of Carrier-Belleuse and Jouffroy, he won the Prix de Rome in 1859 and among his numerous awards, a medal of honor at the Salon of 1868.
This work depicting Diane Chasseresse was also published in bust. Very nice State of presentation, the Brown/light patina is original, it has slight wear according to its seniority.
