Sèvres porcelain vase, 1848

Vase in spindle shape with polychrome decoration on a blue background enhanced by gilding.
The body of the vase is decorated with six medallions with bunches of flowers, placed in shapes consisting of strings of pearls and containing inscriptions of the six first monthes of the year.
The shoulder of the vase is decorated with six zodiac signs, like a cameo, in four lobed medallions.
The body and the foot are decorated with semi-precious stones, palmettes, arcades and neogothic interlacings.
The gilded bronze handles consist of fluted rods decorated with vine leaves, vine branches and acanthus leaves.
The vase sits on a gilt bronze square base;
The gilt bronze have been made by Louis Honoré Duboquet.
Mark in the neck "LP with crown, Sèvres, 1848".
Louis-Philippe period.
