Bronze with a nuanced dark brown patina France circa 1900 height 80 cm width 55 cm Biography : François-Rupert Carabin (1862-1932) is a sculptor, medalist, goldsmith, cabinetmaker and photographer from Alsace. Carabin emigrates to Paris with his parents following the Franco-German War of 1870. He will not return to Alsace before taking the post of Director of the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg in 1920: his training as an artist so was a training only Paris.
