Born in Vast on the farm of the Woods on July 25, 1914.
He said he was a pupil of Maurice Pigeon, another vastais artist.
In his childhood he observed Pigeon at work, thus he acquired a base of trade by imitation and mimicry.
Jac Lem had a gift, a self-taught painter, landscape designer at the beginning when he was a young draftsman at the arsenal of Cherbourg.
A daring creator, he executed fast, powerful, intuitive collages.
