Large and rare sepia color drawing representing a diver plunging from a caravel.
The scene is special: the three masts appear to be broken at 2/3 of their height, and the vessel is ballasted with a huge stone, in addition to the usual anchor. There is a curious winged dragon on the right, and a sea serpent in the foreground, both at the bottom of the water.
Yellowing of the paper and fold in the middle, otherwise good state of conservation.
Unusual drawing. This drawing came be compared to another one of sponge divers visible at the British Museum of London given as anonymous, Italy, 15th century.
