It is adorned with an elegant decor mixing motifs said "ironwork" and frieze of lambrequins. In the center of the basin, a stylized rosette is surrounded by a wreath of "ironwork". On the marli we find the lambrequins typical of the pottery of Rouen around 1730.
very good condition (slight engrenures on the edges)
Historical annecdote : The lambrequin is a pattern inherited from Chinese porcelain from the Kang-hsi period (1622-1722) reinterpreted by ornamentalists such as Jean Berrain. This decor arouses enthusiasm as early as the seventeenth century, Boulle marquetry, leather bindings, fabrics, goldsmith ... seize. Painted in blue monochrome, the decoration with lambrequins is characteristic of Rouennaise faience.
