A vase-shaped Delftware money bank decorated with flower and leaf motifs and landscapes. At the top an ocre urn-shaped knob. At the top and the base decorations of leafs in green.
Money banks like these were manufactured in ample amounts in the 16th and 17th century in Holland. The problem was they had to be smashed to get to the contents. Probably this is the main reason why so few of these objects have survived.
