Cooke was a member of the Dublin Society of Artists wher he exhibited from 1800 to 1803. His miniature are scarse. This one is the earliest one recorded as far as we know, ans shows he was already a master in his art. He died in Dublin, Charlotte Street on 1st December 1805.

Condition : good except some yellow dots; colours are fresh ; tiny damage on the glass on the reverse, almost invisible, lower part of the hair; some pearls have fallen from the initiales; somestripes on the original galsses. Medallion has not been open for inspection.
