Wrought Iron Chest "coffre De Marine" 17th Century

Wrought iron marine chest d17th century with a complex locksmith system. It is completely iron-clad. In frontage there is a "false lock entrance". It has nice handles on the sides. Under the lid is a complicated lock that operates five pinnae. There is also a small interior box. This beautiful chest rests on a base in wrought iron posterior.

Historical Annecdote: The National Maritime Museum inParishas kept several copies of wrought iron chests, made in Nuremberg. These safes equipped with a complex locksmith system acted as movable safes for valuable documents and objects during land and sea voyages. On the ships, the chests were screwed by the bottom.
