Delorme and Palamedesz. often worked together. While Delorme’s imposing, but ficitituous, Protestant Renaissance church interiors
look so grand, but also so unreal, Palamedesz. painted very naturally behaving contemporary people in them. Delorme represented these interiors at night, making them even more mysterious, with their strong clair-obscur contrasts.
