An important oak "romayne" panel, carved in relief with the effigy of Julius Caesar in profile. The head of the emperor, with accurately detailed hair and hair band, is placed in a large laurel wreath with ribbons and bows which is placed on plinth.
The panel is composed of two planks of oak wood that are connected to the back with a single dovetail joint.
