French Louis XV Ormolu Mantel Clock By St Germain

Rare and important ormolu mantel clock said "to two Chinese".
On a rocky mound, two Chinese kneeling, one of whom leans on a tree stump, support the drum which includes the movement.
At the top, sitting on a pagoda in an environment of branches, is a young Indian.
The two Chinese wearing the traditional mustache are dressed in the costume of Emperor Quianlong's soldiers, ie, boots, tunics and bowler hat.

The enamelled dial with Roman numerals for hours and Arabic numerals for minutes bears the inscription "Baillon à Paris" for Jean Baptiste Baillon received master watchmaker in 1727.

The engraved rear plate JB BAILLON PARIS and numbered 3997.

Perfect working condition, movement and suspension of origin, revised by our watchmaker.

Parisian work of Louis XV period attributable to Jean Joseph of St Germain.
